My parents are buried here. I've attended multiple funerals at Sharon Memorial. Their default (kind of amazingly) is not to accommodate a traditional Jewish burial in which the mourners fill in the grave. They don't supply enough earth for this or enough shovels. Every funeral I've attended -- and it's been too many -- in which you want to do full kevurah, you have to wait for them to bring more earth. The set up is oriented towards a symbolic shovel or trowel or two.

Also, the coffins do not rest on the earth but rather inside cement boxes. To make this conform to Jewish law, a gap needs to be left in between the cement covers. This is not done by default and has to be requested every time.

Additionally, they do not allow traditional headstones and by policy they don't allow stones to be left on the grave when you visit. This is in the interest of facilitating lawn care.

If these things are important to you, I would recommend finding another cemetery.

Although we are in the midst of a drought, it is obvious that the caretakers are not watching. This is the second time since July 4th I've had to call to report a problem with the grounds.
